November 21st, 2010 04:38 AM #1guys, heads up lang po. it seems that that the carjackers/carnappers are shifting their operation in Kalayaan Area Makati going to C-5, and not in QC anymore.
last night, a family friend of ours got their windshield smashed while traversing Kalayaan. 2 or 5 unknown person hurled a very big bottle sa car nila. it smashed the windshield while running at average speed around 50-60kph.
they stopped, checked the windows view from the inside and saw men who seem drunk daw but later on run away. sensing that something is very odd, hindi na bumaba ang family friend namin (even though they have a gun also ) kasi baka decoy yun if they give chase. they noticed that the men didn't run away kagad and were in fact checking to see the windows and pretended that they were drunk.
sirang-sira po ang buong windshield, and perhaps they are hoping na hindi maka-drive ang driver and bumaba.
good thing, naalala nila yun mga recent carjacking sa news and it seemed na lahat ng celebrated carjackings ngaun happened in Kalalayaan, or in a cornern in Kalayaan or C5.
try googling about carjackings/carnappings kalayaan, and you'll see na ang proximity sa area ng kalayaan nangyayari karahimahan. our family friend who has links in the armed service told us na one reason why the area is infested with these daring robbers is bec. they could be former soldiers/soldier families themselves from the former Fort Bonifacio Base.
anyway heads up lang po lalong lalo na sa mga kababayaan natin na umuuwi from Makati and using that road going to C5. the incident happened at 10pm. it's not even that late.
here's one link i stumbled on while googling. from a resident of Kalayaan ang nagpost

Thanks for the heads up. Carnapping is so rampant now.
I am guessing this only happens in Kalayaan C5 side and not the one way area/ Makati Avenue side?

Yeah. Diba dati, frequent ang pambabato diyan. Kaya if you pass there, especially at night, dun ka sa gitnang lane and medyo bilisan mo nalang takbo mo. ;)

I don't think yan yung sa Makati Avenue side the MAPSA and Makati police would be all over them immediately due to the traffic it would cause.

akala ko nawala na yan dyan sa kalayaan. it reminds me more than 5 yrs ago papunta kami ng baguio dyan kami dumaan past 4am may commotion along kalayaan, it turned out may binato na windshield at badly hurt yung mga nasa front.
