Nakatulog? Our soccer coach in Ateneo died at the same spot before (his car was a Kia Pride). He fell asleep on the wheel coming from a business trip.
Katips flyover area is quite a dangerous place. Its straight enough to speed well over 120 to 140 yet its actually narrow that one slip can cause you to go over the lanes or hit the posts.

September 16th, 2011 04:34 PM #3I wouldn't call it straight at all. The road is slightly curved, and at night there is a section where the lights are usually switched off making it hard to see where the center median is. Not a good combination, especially when you're speeding and don't realize the lane you are on will quickly disappear unless you start to turn.
There's also quite the amont of undulation in the road itself. From both sides of the road you sort of go uphill, then dip into a crest and go uphill again, before finally going downhill on the otherside. On the flyover itself, the expansion joints are quite large. You might not notice as much when you blast over them at speed, but when you get a chance to slowly drive over those expansion joints while in traffic, you'll realize just how much they can actually affect your car. It's like going over a small speedbump.
Drive safe guys!
