The problem is not really a Goon Squad issue.
But anyway, foreign plates under Filipino plates? It's just a decoration. For example, you went to New York, bought an "I LOVE NY" car plate for souvenir, then attach it to your car back in the Philippines.
Filipinos are souvenir-conscious. It's a culture. Does it look stupid? Maybe. It depends on your taste and perception. For example, I don't walk around here wearing "I LOVE BRITAIN" t-shirts, eventhough they sell those kind of shirts at Heathrow Airport to idiot tourists so they can wear them back to their home country. Same thing with foreign plates.

yeah, for me, for me ha, it fills up the sides meant for the euro plates, makitid kasi ang phil plates. Like i've said kanya kanyang trip yan. i brought up the issue about blues lights because it irritates me when i see them on lenses meant for amber or red lights. May safety concern kasi dito. there are so many things that irritates us in the streets, on cars, pero if those euro plates really pissed you off i can pm you my merc's (btw, its a euro ver)plate number and you can ram me from behind, free of charge, if you can't bear the sight of it. Of course you have to take care of your own damage.

Why not? Maybe it's stupid to put a europlate to vehicles na hindi released sa europe pero how about yung euro-inspired vehicles like the yaris? If mapapansin mo sa rear area na lalagyan ng plate pag local plate lang ilalagay mo, ang laki ng awang sa gilid niya.
Beauty is subjective so it is even pointless to discuss if it is aesthetically pleasing or not. What matters is the vehicle owner is happy every time he sees and rides his vehicle.
This thread is not even suitable for goon squad because it ain't making the road safe unless you keep staring on them europlates and you smashed the mmda concrete barriers in the process.
Some people wear caps inside establishments. Even celebrities wear "shades" inside a room. Now why?

December 13th, 2009 03:28 PM #7This sounds like my kind of thread!!
Wrong section though.
Primary reason is to make it seem like their car was imported - which is simply lame. Who gives a crap if your car was imported. Maybe if it this sort of "style" was on a BMW, Merc or an exotic then they could get away with it, but for normal civics, mazda 3s and fortuners thats just plain wrong.

to some people i know, it accentuates the car's theme. their cars are euro themed, meaning they go for the look of that car model that was released in europe, which means it looks different from the ones released locally. to add the plate is to emphasize the car's theme.
at pag may eb/pictorial/car shows/whatever, they remove the local plate covering the europlate.
IMHO, i don't think it's stupid.
