ONLY in the Philippines.
Benson Bangayan Tan, 43, continued uttering this in shock yesterday, days after he was robbed of P3 million allegedly by 20 cops inside his home in Tondo, Manila. Tan, of 2427-C Fernandez St., Gagalangin, Tondo, said 20 heavily-armed cops raided his house for unknown reasons at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. The suspects reportedly took P100,000 in cash and jewelry worth P3 million.
An MPD-General Assignment Section investigator identified the cops behind the alleged robbery as SPO2 Mario Sanchez, PO3 Daniel Gaddie, PO2 Melchor Nuñez, PO2 Dranreb Cipriano, PO2 Fernando Diamzon, PO1 Sonny Gahol, PO1 Leandro Ventanilla, PO1 Mark Dave Vicente, PO1 Christopher Laus, PO1 Enrique Miranda, PO1 Raffy Padua, PO1 Maurison Ablaza, PO1 Marlon Canlapan, PO1 Elmer Clemente, PO1 Nestor Inot, PO1 Rudolf Mijares, PO1 Richie Yapit, all detailed with the MPD Station 1; PO2 Christopher Palapal and PO2 Giovanni Chua, both assigned with the MPD’s District Mobile Force Unit.
Tan filed robbery charges against the 20 cops yesterday.
“Akala mo coup d’etat ang nangyari. Biglang pinasok ng mga awtoridad ang bahay ng biktima at pagkatapos ay ninakawan pa,” a neighbor of the victim told People’s Tonight.
As this developed, Tondo residents urged Philippine National Police chief Director General Avelino I. Razon Jr. and MPD director Chief Supt. Roberto “Boysie” Rosales to relieve the suspects’ immediate superior, Supt. Yolando Mariano, MPD Station 1 commander.
“Command responsibility ’yan ni Supt. Mariano. Dapat masibak siya sa puwesto dahil magnanakaw ang kanyang mga tauhan,” a source said.
People’s Tonight tried to get Supt. Mariano’ s side on the matter. A cop aide, who requested anonymity, said the police chief was on leave during the alleged robbery.

December 1st, 2007 02:20 PM #6^^ malamang... kasi kung walang warrant ang pulis, bakit mo papapasukin sa bahay mo at hahayaang "imbestigahan" ang loob nito....lalo pa't wala kang abogadong kasama.

MPD official OK’d illegal raid
By Nestor Etolle
Sunday, December 2, 2007 Contrary to his earlier claims, the chief of the Balut, Tondo police station in Manila was aware and had apparently sanctioned a raid conducted by 18 of his police officers who allegedly robbed a Chinese-Filipino businessman of P2.1 million Thursday, according to the initial results of an ongoing investigation by the Manila Police District (MPD).
Businessman Venson Tan Bangayan said that when he confronted the policemen who barged into his house, they told him that their operation was in compliance with a directive by Balut police station chief Superintendent Rolando Miranda.
A certain “Sergeant Abrogar,” an official of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) based in Caloocan City, who was with Bangayan at the time, reportedly called up Miranda, who confirmed that the members of the raiding team were his men.
Earlier, Miranda told The STAR that he was not aware of the reported illicit activities of his men, saying he was on leave at the time the alleged robbery was committed.
Sources revealed that Miranda has instructed the 18 policemen involved not to appear at the ongoing investigation, and just wait for the charges to be filed.
MPD General Assignment Section chief Superintendent Ernesto Barlam, whose unit is investigating the case, said Bangayan is set to identify the policemen involved in the alleged robbery tomorrow.
One of the policemen linked to the heist expressed his intention to identify four of his colleagues as the culprits to clear the names of the others.
Bangayan filed a complaint at the MPD after finding out that he was missing jewelry worth P100,000 and P2 million following the raid by the 18 policemen, who told him they were “responding to a call from a concerned citizen.”
MPD director Chief Superintendent Roberto Rosales has ordered an impartial investigation into the allegation to ferret out the real culprits.
Rosales said no police officer is considered on leave when there is a red alert, which was declared last Thursday during a hotel siege in Makati City by renegade soldiers.
