would you buy this over, say, a well maintained 97 Corolla XL or Sentra S3 EX?

that seems too small. imo, the chery qq3, pica and smart should be the smallest entry level cars. although we are after the price, mas maganda kase substantial din yung oto.
some parts are made of plastic, no PS, no AC, no right side mirror, no tach, bare bones seats etc.
at 70km/h topspeed, eh di always cruising at topspeed ka nyan sa c5. siga mo! hahaha
kakatakot baka liparin ka pag may humaripas ng truck tapos nag overtake sayo...

i'd get this over a motorcycle but not against some good 2ndhand cars.

    just my 2 cents...

    In Concept...
Tata calls it the "People's Car" ...like the classic Beetle and "Sakbayan".

PS: The Sakbayan is the RP market version of the Australian VW "Country Buggy".

For what it's worth, we got our 1990 300TE for $3000. That's a fully optioned Benz in pretty good shape that we know will last, has unlimited roadside assistance, and enough cargo carrying space for 3 balikbayan boxes together with 5 passengers and can cruise at a sustained 80MPH easily. Talk about substantial, indeed
