April 8th, 2007 10:42 PM #1Greetings!
Every year 1.2 million people die in a road accident. Most of these tragedies can be avoided if these people were properly informed on the repercussions of their actions on the road.
That is why we are coming up with a video to inform people of how road accidents can truly affect not just their life, but the ones they love as well. This video will be part of our Responsibility In Driver Education (R.I.D.E.) program which we give for free to people in public and private high schools.
We are looking for people willing to share their story, the life changing hurt they have experienced because of a road accident for an educational video to be shown to the youth to show how important it is to take care while traveling on the road.
We are asking parents of youth and other young people as well to share their anecdotes so that their fellow youth may relate and realize how important a few seconds of safety can make a difference for the rest of their life.
Your contribution will save lives, and we hope to interview you for just a short time so we may share your experience so that others may not have to go through the same pain.
If you are interested in sharing your story on your life changing road accident, or know of a friend or relative willing to share their experience, please send email to stoproadaccidents*yahoo.com
Hopefully you are within the Metro Manila area

While this is a very noble cause, the hardest part is getting to convert those people who simply don't care about others and continue on wrecklessly. I'm guessing this should be a large enough event to have a huge impact on the people involved, otherwise they will just shun it off as just another event to watch. JMHO. Goodluck!

April 9th, 2007 11:48 AM #4well we'll take it one step at a time with students that aren't so hardened first.
We just need people who they can relate to so they will feel it can actually happen to them.
This 3rd week of April has been declared by the United Nations as Road Safety Week :D
