Resale value in this segment is generally high, so it's useless to rate... the Jazz, though, would generally be highest, followed by the Yaris and Swift.

Brand? Not a big deal. People would point to "Toyota" as being a quality brand, but the Yaris is assembled in Thailand, not Japan... whereas the Swift is assembled in Japan. So that question is unanswerable.

In terms of:

Performance:
Swift: 1 - excellent handling. Now available with a manual tranny.
Jazz: 2 - supposedly softer than previous, and heavier. 5 speed AT is best in class.
Yaris: 4 - softest tuning, bad understeer.

Looks:
I'd call it a tie. I like all three.

Practicality:
Jazz: 1 - reclining rear seats + ULT = amazing versatility and space.
Yaris: 3 - reclining rear seats give good cabin space. Cargo space pathetic.
Swift: 4 - no rear cargo or rear seat space to speak of.

Comfort:
Yaris: 1 - soft seats, soft suspension.
Jazz: 2 - seats still hard.
Swift: 2 - good seats, but still less interior space than the other two.

Those are actually subcompact cars you mentioned. Compact cars would be at the level of the Corolla, Lancer, Civic, Mazda3, etc.
