Yes I have had a drivers license since 1997 i have been driving manual and automatic, in the philippines and in north america. My car is a honda civic 1997 AT Vti. I dont think it is driving style... normal ba na tataas un rpm kapag magaccelerate na di na aakyat ang speedometer pero un rpm tumataas pa din? I dont think normal yun and i have driven enough years naman na siguro to know if it is normal or not.

Overdrive on or off, same situation, so naging suspect, nawawala na yung 4th gear sa shifting option ng kotse.

Based on those symptoms, my best guess is that that the clutch is slipping.
If it's still using the original clutch packs from 20+ years ago, it's definitely time to replace them. Otherwise, it may just need certain adjustments or an ATF change.

February 29th, 2020 08:49 AM #9MT? the clutch (disk) is probably worn and needs replacing.
AT? atf only, if you are lucky. AT needs to be opened, if you are not that lucky.
i recently had my altis's AT fixed. the stick wouldn't rake nicely. first time i heard of "AT overhaul kit". it costs a pretty bundle.Last edited by dr. d; February 29th, 2020 at 09:36 AM.

February 29th, 2020 09:28 AM #10Sunget mo naman... kulang kulang kasi info mo kaya ganyan sagot..
Kung AT yan.. clutch slipping ang tawag dyan.. malamang between 2nd gear to 3rd gear yung slip na nararamdaman mo based sa speed mo na 30 to 40 kph..
Check your atf level, color and smell.. check level while engine is idling. cycle the shift stick to all gears. When the rad fan kicks.. check atf level between Hot zone.
Using tissue paper (white) check its color.. should be reddish in color. Then sniff the atf for any burnt oil smell
