May 14th, 2004 01:24 PM #1Are the engines of the Ford Lynx and Mazda 323 (the latest DOHC sold locally) the same?
Some say yes, some say no.
Visually, the cylinder head covers seems different. The Lynx seems to have sharp corners while the 323 has more rounded corners.
How about the internals? HP and torque ratings?

They are not the same. The 323 uses a B3, B5, or B6 Mazda engine. The Lynx uses a distributorless ignition system so it's totally different.
The Lynx RS 2.0 uses an FS-E distributorless engine which is the same engine in the 1998-2001 Mazda 626.
