If they bring in 200 Ford Mustangs at 3m, they'll sell out within a few months.
If they bring in 200 Ford Fusions at 2m, they'll sit on the lots for half a year, until Ford has to discount them to 1.6m... and then they'll sell 100 units, and the other 100 will have to go on fire sale at 1.4m the next year.
There's very little benefit or money in selling in the Camry market here in the Philippines... especially considering how strong the Camry sells to the target market... mostly middle-aged, conservative and low-key businesspeople. Everyone else with that money is out buying more ostentatious SUVs or crossovers.

The mid-size sedan segment is a competitive mainstream segment, Ford will have to manufacture the Fusion/Mondeo in Thailand to match or undercut the prices of the Camry.
There were rumors that the upcoming Mondeo could be made in Thailand for the ASEAN market, so far nothing has been confirmed yet.
The 2013 Mondeo will go on sale in Europe next year, its almost identical to the 2013 Fusion that goes on sale in the US this fall.
2013 Mondeo
The nice thing about the 2013 Fusion/Mondeo is it looks sporty and luxurious at the same time unlike most of the Camry's other competitors. For example, the Mazda 6 is sporty and smaller, while the Teana is big and luxurious, the Sonata is probably the closest in balancing both (only if they lessened the chrome specially on the grill and improved its driving dynamics)
As expected, in response to Tesla’s entry into the Philippines market, Ford will be bringing in the...
