2-3 kms is really not enough to get up to temperature. No wonder!

To get optimum mileage, you have to travel at least 20kms a trip.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

I test drove (albeit only on the gravel parking lot of the WTC) the 2007 Ford Everest 4x2 A/T.

*I'm not surprised (given its structural underpinning-body on frame) that it was noticeably bumpier than a Tucson which I also test drove that same afternoon, also in the same area.

*The Everest's new diesel engine has a noticeable lag unlike the very eager CRDi of the Sta Fe's.

    *The hood is looong.

*The unit I was testing had this clakkering noise coming from the rear area (which I did not bother asking about).

*Driving this vehicle makes you feel like you are really driving a truck (from the interior appointments down to the drive). Its counterpart in Toyota is not like this.

    number001,
you're right about the loooong hood on the gen2 everest, even the first gen has a very long hood which i think nakabawas ng pogi points and it pushes the length of the car to 5 meters. I wish they could've shortened the hood a bit para mas madaling i-park.
    sir niky,
wala na talaga akong magawa about the short trips kasi 1 km away lang house and work ko. binenta ko nga crv ko dahil ang lakas sa gas and bought an everest kasi i was thinking mas matipid dahil diesel. hindi rin pala hehehe

    mileage mo sa CRV?
makamura ka i think kasi cheaper yung diesel compare to gasoline and more mileage per liter compare to gasoline.

    eve 2007 2.5/at
travelled 460kms FC 9.4km/lit although I think this can still be improve, base on the driving my driver did I expected a higher consumption, since he would keep his feet steady on the pedal with an rpm of almost 2500, when on highway driving I think keeping it below 2000 can easily be done.

about the dumpy ride some are experiencing while test driving this, well I found out that the factory tire pressure is about 50 psi. so after adjusting it to 30-front and 32-rear, the ride was way better. In fact going to small pot holes feels better that the innova because of the bigger and thicker tire size. Didn't experience body roll on mine, going through curves at 80-100kph feels comfortable.

So I would strogly suggest that the first thing you do after buying an eve2007, check the tire pressure. It's a world of difference having it at 30psi.

My review on highway driving of eve.
    Pro's
Heavy body, feels more safe at highways
Very powerful engine, can easily cruise at 100kph at around 2000rpm, I dont know if the turbo kicks in at that or the tranny shifts to 5th speed, but more power still comes at 100kph.
    Poweful brake
    Nice Leg room

    Cons
Poor weather seals, can sometimes smell outside air
Poor insulation can easily hear outside air (related to the weather seal i guess)
