February 17th, 2014 06:27 AM #414I see. It is just so amazing that you have so much knowledge about the Ecosports. Have you seen it personally? Did you try driving it? Can you share with us your experience? Thanks.

I test drove the EcoSport Titanium at Bonifacio High Street last Jan 31. (The photos I posted of the Blue EcoSport, I took those after the test drive)
If you're familiar with other recent Ford cars, you'll feel at home in the EcoSport.
Ride and NVH is average for a B-segment vehicle, though during hard acceleration, engine noise was more noticable than in the Focus Mk2 (my daily driver), then again that's a C-segment car.
It's definitely not a hot hatch and has no aspirations to be one (its heavier than the Fiesta), but as an urban cruiser, it gets the job done.
Quality seemed ok, but I was informed that the test and display units were built before regular production began in Thailand (that maks these units one of the first LHD EcoSports to roll out of the Thai factory).
I think it's a good alternative for those looking for a B-segment vehicle with more ground clearance than a regular car but wants something more refined than an AUV (Avanza) and more rugged/stylish than an MPV (Spin).
If I would rate the EcoSport Titanium Powershift based on that short drive, i'd give it a rating of 8/10.
*I would have given it a higher score if the Titanium model had the new 1.0 EcoBoost engine.
Since I researched the car before it was launched here, I more or less had an idea of what to expect. So test driving it was more like just confirming what i've read and it was better than I expected.
PS: Given the chance to buy one, i'd go for the Trend MT and just add backup parking sensors, I think it's the best in terms of value and I also prefer doing my own shifting.Last edited by AG4; February 17th, 2014 at 08:22 AM.

February 17th, 2014 08:26 AM #416thanks sir. I really love the looks of the Ecosports. My apprehensions are the FC and hirap talaga umakyat. the engine vibration was so strong that even if you are inside the car, you can still feel it. The dashboard was really vibrating.

I see, its better to test drive one again in the future. The real production units should hit the showrooms this April, i'm guessing this period is being used to sort out bugs and address quality issues etc of the early build units.
PS: The unit I tested was the Lunar Sky one, thats the greyish color.Last edited by AG4; February 17th, 2014 at 08:49 AM.

I am not really a fan of the TOTL models even in my previous purchases.
If I were to buy this (for wifey's drive), I'd go with Trend AT.
For 100K,- the differences between the Trend AT and Titanium AT (at least according to the Ford rep who accompanied me during the test drive a week ago), are push button start, moonroof, design of the alloy wheels and leather seat... Not much,- so the rest of the P difference goes to the "Titanium branding"

A bit OT: Hassle ba ang moonroof / sunroof on city driving during summers? Sorry never owned a car with them yet. :D
