Do you like softdrinks, which do you prefer?
SOFT DRINKS
The term soft drink was originated to distinguish nonalcoholic beverages from hard liquor, or spirits. Soft drinks are nonalcoholic carbonated or noncarbonated beverages, usually containing a sweetening agent, edible acids, and natural or artificial flavors. Soft drinks include cola beverages, fruit-flavored drinks, and ginger ale and root beer. Coffee, tea, milk, cocoa, and undiluted fruit and vegetable juices are not considered soft drinks.
The characteristic fizz and sparkle of soft drinks is the result of carbonation--dissolving carbon dioxide in the soft drinks during processing. Because they contain carbonated water, or soda water, soft drinks are also called soda pop, soda, or pop.
The average pH of soft drinks is pH 3.4. It will dissolved a nail in about 4 days. This acidity is strong enough to dissolve teeth and bones! Our human body stops building bones at around the age of 30. After that it'll be dissolving about 8-18% of the bones each year through the urine, depending on the acidity of the food intake (acidity does not depend on the taste of the food, but on the ratio of potassium / calcium / magnesium / etc. to phosphorus). Phosphoric acid (pH) also leaches calcium from bones and is major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
All the dissolved calcium compounds accumulate in the arteries, veins, skin tissue, and organs. This affects the functioning of the kidney (kidney stones). Soft drinks do not have any nutritional value (in terms of vitamins and minerals). They have higher sugar content, higher acidity, and more additives such as preservatives and colorings.
Some people like to take cold soft drinks after each meal, guess what's the impact? Our body has an optimum temperature of 37 degrees for the functioning of digestive enzymes. The temperature of cold soft drinks is much less than 37, sometimes quite close to 0. This will lower the effectiveness of the enzymes and put stress on the digestive system, digesting less food. In fact the food gets fermented. The fermented food produce bad smelling gases, decays and forms toxins, which are absorbed in the intestines, get circulated in the blood and is delivered to the whole body. This spread of toxins can lead to the development of various diseases.
Have you ever thought what you drink when you drink an aerated drink? You gulp down carbon dioxide, something that no sane person in the world would advise you to do. Think before you drink any softdrink.

October 9th, 2003 03:42 AM #7Number 1 fact. yes your teeth are in danger anything sweet is decaying. as for acidity, a level that would dissolve teeth would hurt your tongue.
number 2 fact. stomach acid is so much more higher than soft drink acidity. way way more acidic. your stomach lining can take muriatic acid.
number 3 fact. if soft drink is acidic, it will aid digestion. all foodsstuff specially beans ferment. thats why we fart.
number 4 fact. breathing CO2 is harmless. suffocating but harmless. swallowing CO2... duh. again thats why we burp. we don not inhale soft drinks. we swallow.
number 5 fact... otep, med student ka. baka nakakalimutan mo. dapat alam mo ito.
number 6 fact. you cannot dissolve CO2 in a liquid. It is pressurized then added to the bottle. solids may dissolve in liquids. liquids may dissolve in gasses. but not the other way around. Ice dissolves in water. but water doesn't dissolve into ice. water doesn't dissolve into sugar or milo or powdered juice.
sa mga doctors, in case, may claim ako na mali. pls. correct me. I'm a mechanic. not a doctor. never taken a med class. I use common sense and general knowledge lang po.

dapat hindi mabasa ito ng mga kasama ko dito.
nagtitinda ako ng softdrinks dito sa office, baka malugi ang sideline ko (malakas pa naman).

wtf? calcium in the body wont necesarilly result to such things mentioned. unless may underlying disease na talaga na preexisting saka ka magkakaroon ng mga ganyan. calcification in some organs ususally sort of repair yun ng body to a previous damage. The mineral Calcium is not only for bones... it is also important in muscle contraction.
pag CPR nga eh diba mmixture ng CO2 and O2 yun.
puro misinformation nakalagay just to support his argument na full of holes..
sana nilagay nya na lang na wlang masyadong nutritional benifit from softdrinks... eh di ayun end of arguement ..hindi yung nagimbento ng kung ano ano hehe

basta ako, one diet pepsi (no calories daw as compared to diet coke na merong 1 calorie) a day. keeps my doctor away.
