December 22nd, 2007 09:28 PM #14I like the hopia baboy which is like, folded with a slit in the middle. This usually found in ordinary bakeries. But I'm always disappointed with the taste and have yet to find a really good one. Any recommendations? Thanks.

We have the same taste however living here is the US my choices are far fetch...I do go to this bakery in Vallejo called Valerios whenever I have a caraving for baked goods however its about a 25 mile drive from where I live. So I always try to make it worthwhile by purchasing hopia baboy and monggo, pandesal ube (my daughter loves this and calls it the purple bread) and chicken pies (my favorite).

Ok nga ang Eng Bee Tin, yung monggo (yellow), although may kamahalan. Pero most of the time, Tipas ang kinakain ko. I could eat a dozen in a single sitting.
Nung bata pa ako, favorite ko din ung hopia baboy na mahahaba. Walang brand yun, at piso isa sa sari-sari store or nearby bakery. Nowadays, pag gusto ko ng hopia baboy, its either Fortune or Goldilocks for me.
