I think the Philippines is one of the best countries for a woman to work. In my 16 years of working in the Philippines, a lot of our leaders are women and their gender never became an issue. Based on my experience, Filipino men do NOT see Filipino women as less in the work place. The guys that I've been with in the recent years they are ALL very supportive of my career and it seems like they have pride if their girl has a great career.

My Paulinian friend is in a dating app and she noticed the same. The men don't just want career women but it seems like they are looking at the education and social class as well. SO says otherwise, so now I don't know what to believe. Could it be with the generation? It's the younger generation of Filipino men that also want women with equally nice "specs"?

I'm wondering if the gender pay gap equality issue that's happening to US is applicable to PH. Sa atin kasi marami sa executives eh babae din.

Even in my field as IT, there's a belief in US that female in IT is rare. Sa comp sci class daw na puro male, pag may pumasok na babae bigla daw tatahimik ang mga nerds. [emoji23]I can't relate dahil sa comp Sci class namin 50/50 ang distribution gender.

I'm shocked nga na in the Western world they still have those issues such as women getting harassed at work and the pay gap. Also, about how women don't feel safe alone

I think hindi masyado malaki kasi like you said, ang daming women executives sa PH. Sa job ko where I worked for almost 12 years, naka 3 kaming department head, all of which are women. Pero of course yung CEO namin sa PH, we never had a woman pa.

I'm surprised na marami pala female IT sa PH? Sa office namin 100% male IT support namin

If you are talking about infrastructure support I think kaya konti female dyan dahil naiisip ko sila yung mga pumapasok sa ilalim ng table mo para ayusin yung Network port, sila mga nag lilipat ng CPU at monitor sa mga work station. Or mga naglalatag ng network cable, baka ayaw ng mga babae mga ganun work. Kaya konti sa support. Pero sa mga programmers marami babae. Saka mga data analyst marami din.

Modern thinking na kasi, unlike before na mentality is women belongs in the kitchen.

If your wife has a career before you met her, why stop her from pursuing and achieving as much as she could sa career niya.
