Pano kyo nagkaroon bigay ng parents o sariling sikap.
Kasi sa panahon ngayon ang hirap na magkaron ng house and lot karamihan nasa condo na lng.
Magkano rin ang nagastos nyo para dito?

First house and lot, in the 90s, just before wifey and myself got married. Cost was about P2M then, IIRC. Bought the lot and built a house on it. Sariling sikap ko... After getting married, we stayed in my parents' place for a couple of weeks (honeymoon stage pa), while the final touches were being done on the house.
Then, a few years ago, as our family was growing, we moved to a bigger place within the same town. Same thing, bought the lot and built a house on it. Sariling sikap namin....
One of my siblings and her family are now staying in our old house and is paying us, through monthly installments,- walang tubo....

first house and lot ko at age of 25 sariling sikap kaya until now nag huhulog padin ng payment sa house worth 1.4M kaya di maka purchase ng new car...hehe
Well I have bought several pieces of empty land (no house) just for investment, wala akong house and lot kasi nakikitira parin ako sa parents ko and even if I get married it will stay that way. Chinese tradition being the eldest son...

ok nga yan eh
no pay rent, libre electricity and water
pati food libre (eat with parents)
pati household help libre (parents bayad sweldo)
that frees up a big part of your income to be used for other stuff
25 years old, before getting married, equity was half-half. half from us and half from parents. loaned it sa bank. 2 years to go and tapos na bayaran.
umabot ng 8M nagastos pagtayo and it took 1.5 years to finish.

While I agree that a house is better than a condo, it also costs much, much more. In my area, a townhouse costs over 3x a condo.
For the same amount of money, your real options are a condo in a good location or a house much farther from the Metro's business districts. Between the two, I chose the former. I prefer being 30 min-1 hr away from everywhere (QC/Makati/BGC) and waking up at 8 and still getting to the office before 9:30.

28 through Pagibig loan. So hassle to maintain (in and out) esp that we do not have househelps so I invested in a condo and leased the house.

Ang swerte talaga ng mga binibigyan ng lupa tapos tatayuan nalang ng bahay. Many of my batchmates in college have that kind of setup, so they're not really under much pressure to have a house and lot right away.
From my experience, the best way to have a comfortable life financially is to be born to rich and generous parents. This beats good credentials most of the time. [emoji23]
But of course, for the rest of us not born with silver spoons, no choice but to study hard, work hard, and hope for a slew of good opportunities.
