December 27th, 2007 10:33 PM #2bro, i've used one of those injector cleaners di ko lang matandaan brand pero lalo lang nag worsen yung problema. if smoke ang problem mo sa diesel ride mo, have your nozzle tips (injectors) checked kasi baka di na maganda ang distribution ng diesel fuel. next thing to do if wala mangyari is calibration ng injection pump which is a little bit costly pero yan talaga ang solution for smoke problems sa diesel. i also have a diesel ride and after nozzle tip replacement and injection pump calibration, wala na usok, tipid pa sa diesel, lumakas pa hatak.

I'm a regular user ng STP injector cleaner.

I also use STP. For me, ok naman ang naging experience ko, on both my Accord and former Sentra.
I also used Outlaw (twice more expensive than STP), and I felt it helped in stabilizing idling issues I had with my Sentra (which was later traced to a dirty IACV/TB).

December 28th, 2007 10:55 AM #6Use injector cleaner (fuel additive) when you are about to do an oil drain (change).
It tends to change the engine oil chemistry that might have some effect on the engine when used for a relatively long time.
I have used the Cyclo cleaner.

Ive heard that the 3M carb cleaner can also be a substitute-just spray half of the can contents in the gas tank (at full tank). But havent tried it yet because I don't know if this is a good practice.
