August 7th, 2020 09:24 AM #1Planning to buy OBD Scanner na OBD1 / OBD2 compliant.
Please recommend brand and specific model that you
have used or if you have any idea ano magandang bilhin.
If I am going to buy OBD2 scanner then buy a OBD1 / OBD2
adapter, please suggest the brand and model as well.
I will use it for Honda OBD1 ECU and for 2015 Montero / 2015 MUX.
Your input is highly appreciated!

August 7th, 2020 10:22 AM #2halos lahat naman ng obd2 scanner will easily read honda and mitsubishi isuzu protocols. cheap generic ones will do fine even the blue tooth based dongles will work. Branded ones autel, inova, actron if you like some can reset abs srs too but they are not cheap especially if you are not using them on a regular basis. kun DIY lang you do not have to spend that much. personally hinahanap ko yun nag babasa din ng toyota IMV vehicles. Aside from professional grade obd scanners ( read: super expensive) wala pa ako mahanap nag babasa ng toyota IMV(diesel innova hilux fortuner hiace) . mga sedan cuv gas suv nila no problem basahin. I've borrowed a midrange autel maxi diag elite di din mabasa toyota imv.

It has an OBD-II ‘style’ DLC connector but it doesn’t seem to be using the standard OBD-II signaling protocol. None of my OBD-II scanners (ScanGaugeII and UltraGauge) can read anything.
So I got from eBay Toyota’s own PC software, Techstream. It comes with an OBD-II-to-USB dongle and it's not expensive (ok, it's not what you'll call a 'legit' copy either). Though, you will need a laptop and a bit of skill to use it and in case it wasn't obvious enough, this is a serious troubleshooting tool and it's not meant to be installed semi-permanently like a ScanGaugeII, et al.
I was able to clear a stored DTC and monitored a few other things during one of my commute some years back. That was it.
