January 1st, 2016 09:55 AM #11yes sir, in 2 parts na yung rad cap ... hindi nman ako natuyuan ng coolant .. sa isang buwan, hindi nman nababawasan ang tubig sa radiator .. sa reservoir may konting bawas sa in a month .. kahit nga long hours of drive, intact pa rin yung coolant ..
kagabi na lng nangyari na ng backflow yung reservoir after ko ni revv up to the redline within a few seconds of starting the engine at hindi ba nka engage yung radiator fan ...

January 1st, 2016 10:26 AM #12in my opinion, your story is... incomplete... needs further trouble-shooting.
in the meantime, i recommend replacement of that radiator cap, and further observation while in use.

Feeling ko may pressure coming from the cylinder head. Kaya kahit malamig pa engine nag build up na pressure sa cooling system. Happened to my FM before.
But same with dr. D, kulang yung story. Whats the condition of the engine?

Tama si Dr. D at Crazy_Boy, a little more details will help to diagnose the problem. Pero hindi dapat magtapon from the reservoir. Unless pinuno mo ng husto nung nagtop off ka. Palitan mo muna rad cap then top off the coolant (proper fill lang) and then monitor. If you can securely place a catch bottle doon sa relief line then it will help gauge the amount being expelled. Monitor closely kasi if it's a case of head gasket leak, mahirap matuyuan, baka magwarp head mo then more trouble leading to top overhaul.

Is your coolant rusty, oily, or worst case, 'chunky'? If not, just replace the radiator cap for now with the same rating and observe. From the way you described the cap, it's up for replacement anyway.

Change first your radiator cap (always get original or Denso) but there may be a cause for the pressure as aforementioned so have your engine compression tested.
