i recently bought a second hand dmax 2005 AT for farm use. im really disappointed with the poor FC of this dmax i bought, which is is around 7km/l only. wala akong problema sa hatak, lakas ng torque, 15 sacks ng feeds, kayang kaya. yng FC lng talaga ang concern ko. any suggestions na mag improve ang FC or sadyang ganito na talaga ito dahil may kalumaan na?

March 24th, 2016 08:29 AM #2Try changing all fluids and filters and see if that helps. 7Km/L doesn't sound that bad, apart from condition FE/FC depends most on the load you put on the car. Fully loaded like yours used mostly on low gear (i presume) in the farm, 7Km/L is actually good fuel mileage.

thanks for the replies sirs. at least, my worries are gone. i thought something is wrong with the pick up. i read somewhere that dmax is around 20km/l fuel efficiency. at dahil may kalumaan na ito, expect ko na nasa 10+k/l pa rin siya. di kasi marunong ng manuall si mrs, kaya matik binili ko. subukan ko rin palitan lahat ng filters, baka sakaling mag improve pa.

March 27th, 2016 11:44 AM #6Having run a new (in 2010) 3.0L D-Max in Malaysia, I never really saw much over 12km/L in mixed driving. Maybe 15 on a long run if I was gentle. Off-road on the jungle tracks it was below 10, so you're not doing too bad.
Clean fuel and air filters, as said, are the trick.
