January 23rd, 2018 05:21 PM #11They say the only reason not to use synthetic or semi-synthetic in an old engine because it might leak due to old seals .. but my 4afe oil seals are new, camshaft seal, sparkplug seal, etc ..
Hindi ba rin pwede mag synthetic ?? Hindi ba pwede sa engine ko ang masyadong manipis like 5w30 ?? How about 5w40 ??

For an older engine, better use the 10w-40 than the 5w-30. The higher viscosity oil (i.e. 10w-40) has better film strength for hot ambient temperatures like ours.

May 6th, 2018 02:08 AM #17sometimes, the specification for thinner oil has to do with its better ability to squeeze itself into the minute oil passages of the engine, compared to heavier oils.
