Been a long time since I last posted on this thread. Ask ko lang guys kung ayos lang ba ang Top1 SDO sa Kia Rio 2012 or mag Caltex DGU na lang ako? Goal is to clean the engine internals using Baldwin filter of course. I've used DGU once sa Vios namin before, ok naman sya and now using Zic A for 40k kms already, every 5k oci.

Top1 sdo is like zic a+ , both semi synth, oci should be 4months for daily driven vehicles.

How many months before you hit 5k?

That is wasting money, We are not in the 1990s that thinks mineral, semi and fully. Its year 2015, you check the API and viscoity. You check last if its group 2, 3 or 4

I hope you are not part of the marketing department of some car dealership and engine oil companies that roams the web and tells car consumer to change oil really fast.

You dont check if its grp4 or even grp3. You check if the oil meets your engine oil requirements. Oil change interval in the philippines is considered severe usage. Welcome to manila traffic.

The additive package is the most important part of the oil I rather have a dino oil with high zinc, moly and calcium in it than a semi that has much less. This is like comparing Mobil Delvac Diesel oil to some no name brand synthetic.

If you really want to know more than you ever wanted to know on oil just visit this site. It's the best in the world on the subject.

Back read and there is one local who knows about engine oil. But i really doubt if this guy is a filipino, seems knowledgeable

If the casa tells you to change oil every 3months like what honda dealership do if you buy honda lev 10w30 dino oil. That is pure marketing scare tactic.

In this country there are few true group 4 fully synthetic available. The majority fully synthetic you see on the shelves are group 3.

This country is marketing haven. People are easily fooled.

You keep on insisting to use semi for 4months and fully for 6months.

Metro manila traffic is bad but you dont change oil that really fast.

Its like honda dealership selling honda lev 10w30 dino oil and telling car consumer to change oil at 3months.

I guess youve never heard of severe usage and preventive maintenance. Read your owners manual.

Mineral , semi synthetic or fully synthetic?
