October 17th, 2015 11:23 AM #1Hey guys,
If major overhaul po ang kailangan sa makina , any idea if how much is the usual labor cost?
Dukot method naman is hindi kailangan ibaba yung whole engine right?paano po ba majujudge na pwede siyang dukot lang , if me scratch na yung engine block is no other choice na ba talaga kundi ibaba na yung makina(major overhaul)
Which leads me to ask , what are the ways kung bakit kumakatok ang makina e regular change oil and filters, never pinapangarera and mostly pinapanghatid sundo lang naman yun ride?
its a diesel ride btw and around 76k km pa ang itinakbo?
ano ano mga parts ang usually na pinapalitan during a major overhaul?maliban sa engine oil yun ibang fluids ba pwede on the next PMS na lang palitan since it will be a heavy gastusan na yun overhaul e
pls help guys

Sir you forgot to post the kind of car and type of diesel engine you have. Baka po sludge ang reason. You have to take your engine apart first to assess the kind of repairs needed.
Have your engine opened muna sir para malaman talaga extent nang repairs. If you like try nyo tawagan yun family mechanic namin. Domeng (0916) 331 7722. Make a schedule with him na lang po. He will be the one to go to your house or to your car and make an assessment. May fee lang po sa house calls. Hope this can help you po.

October 17th, 2015 11:55 AM #3sir its a CRDI engine 2008 model SUV
now im still canvassing and letting some mechanics hear the sound of the the engine, medyo marami ang nagsasabi na more or less conn rod or piston and piston ring is the culprit.
me mga Korean mechanics and engine shops na rin pala dito sa atin?hehehehe i was surprised when I was able to talk to one of them and more or less same diagnosis din.pricey sila mag turing since mostly Koreans lang ang clientele nila.
i am from Cavite area so medyo marami sila dito, anyways if anyone have ideas on where to source out parts for a kimchi made ride? I know a lot is in Banawe area , and Pasay area. any particular shop and store in mind?

Determine if it is top end or bottom end knock. It might be fuel knock if you have carbon build up in the combustion chambers. If you can have compression test, do that first. You don't need autopsy on a living engine[emoji3]
