    kundi po ako nagkakamali, dahil po sa mas mataas na compression ratio ng diesel engines compared sa gasoline engines.

    Yup, it's due the high compression which results to very high pressure that is needed to ignite the diesel fuel.

    A gasoline engine compresses at a ratio of 8:1 to 12:1, while a diesel engine compresses at a ratio of 14:1 to as high as 25:1.

    Also, diesel fuel has a higher energy density than gasoline. On average, 1 gallon (3.8 L) of diesel fuel contains approximately 155x106 joules (147,000 BTU), while 1 gallon of gasoline contains 132x106 joules (125,000 BTU).

    gestapo, di ba ang joules/BTU is unit of energy? hindi ata density. pasensya na kung mali ako, baka nangangalawang na utak ko sa physics/thermodynamics.

    oo nga. unit of energy yung joules/BTU. sa pagkakaintindi ko, (sori po kung mali ako. bata lang po ako. :mrgreen masmalakas ang energy na na-e-exert ng diesel fuel kaysa sa gas.

    And from the way diesel works, it is around 30% more efficient than gasoline engines.

    compression ratio lang ba talga?i mean...bat yng ibang gas fed engine kahit high compression considering same displacement e mas tahimik? F1 engines perhaps...LOL
