1.1 bakit kaya?
1.2 pwede kaya magpalit ako oil?
1.3 or engine ko may problema?
1.4 may change ba pag nag 5w-40 ako which is hks super na racing oil?

February 24th, 2013 02:19 AM #3IMHO...most of the engine leaks comes from worn out oil seals, cheap lang oil seals but changing it is quite a challenge for the not mechanically inclined individuals. A gasket would leak if you overheated your engine or you're fond of having an engine wash with a hot engine., gasket especially the original one doesn't just leaks normally.. common answer lang ng mga mechanics na kapag low viscosity rating ang ginamit magleak daw sa engine gaskets...well unless you change by at least 30 from the original specs then it would probably leak. I've used 0W-30 from an orig oil specs or 10W-40 never had a leak on my gaskets..Recently just changed one my engines front crankshaft seals..not because of engine oil na manipis but due to old age..due for replacement. Seals gets hard and will lose its elasticity.

usually when the leak is around the mid section of the engine it is the oil filter gasket or the oil pressure sending unit, depending on the type of engine. identify your vehicle first.

check where the oil is leaking, kung joint yan probably worn out seal, gasket or need mo i-tighten. check also the recommended oil viscosity na para sa engine mo.

if the last thing done was an oil change and the engine did not have prior leak, have the drain plug and the oil filter checked. determine whether it is a pressure leak or seepage or gravitational leak and by how much in terms of volume (e.g.; c.c per minute )

February 25th, 2013 09:43 AM #9The 5W30 is thinner than the 10W38.... Your "oil leak" must be coming from the new oil spilled around your filler or from the oil filter mounting when you dismantled your filter (when you had a change oil). Best thing to do first is have your engine washed (while cold) to determine better the source of leak
