Here's the situation (actually my bayaw's situation)
Brought the car to casa two weeks ago to have the MAF cleaned and throttle body cleaned, because of rough idling and sometimes car is stopping in the middle of the road after coming from a full stop. After the cleaning everything is perfectly well especially the idle.
After a few days tumirik na naman, he bring the car to shell customer cradle. The mechanic saw that his air filter is dugyot na pala (Ford Libis idn't saw this, what a service). Possible ba na ito ang cuase ng pagdumi ng MAF at pagtirik sa kanya?
I am suspecting kasi na this is the culprit. So I advice him to havethe MAF cleaned again instead of buying a new one, kasi nadiagnose sa isang autoshop na may diagnostic tool na MAF ang problema. And after pacleaning test drive with the mechanic and have the MAF sensor diagnose again with the computer What do you think guys?

Just have the MAF cleaned and the filter replaced. It should be fine after that.

so tama po yung hinala ko na dumumi ulit yung MAF kasi madumi pa din yung filter nya pa rin after magpalinis ng MAF?

May 25th, 2007 11:42 AM #4well anung klasenf maf ba yan sir? meron kasi yung parang wire.. meron naman yung sa toyota eh sealed....
a dirty filter would restrict air-flow to the intakes/maf... so kung sakal ang air, it would translate to sakal na fuel.... kasi yung maf ang mag sabi sa ecu na kung gaano kadami air na pumasok tapos compute itong si ecu kung gaano kadami fuel ipapasok nya sa chamber... kung sakal eh di syempre hirap si engine tumakbo..
dat would also be the case if madumi mismo yung maf... kasi di nya mababasa nang tama yung air flow...
a MAF works by heating a certain wire to a certain temperature... lets say 5degrees... alam nang ecu yung temp. at monitored yung voltage na pumapasok para ma maintain yung 5degrees lets say 5 volts... pad dumaan yung hangin, cyempre bababa yung temp lets say 3degrees .... pag na sense ni ecu na bumaba temp, i akyat nya ulet yung voltage para ma maintain yung 5degrees... so lets say inakyat nya nang 7volts tapos naging 5deg. ulet yung wire.
compute ni ecu yung difference, 7v - 5v = 2 volts... tapos check nya yung map/ data nya kung ilan yung pumasok na hangin.... lets say for every 1V eh may pumasok na 1cu/ft nang air, compute nya ulet kung ilang fuel dapat, check nya ulet map nya... according to books, nasa 14.5:1 ang ration nang air and fuel... so mag inject nang 0.06896cu/ft fuel. ayun...
so have your filter replaced and you could clean your maf... bili ka carb cleaner, dismantle the MAF, spay ka lang.... kung open type yan na may wire nga gamit ka buds.... pero i guess it should still be clean, unless naka high flow air filter ka na lumulusot yung mga alikabok..

nagpalit na kanina yung bayaw ko ng MAF sensor, nagpalinis na kasi sya ganun pa rin, bagong palit na din ang air filter.. tumitirik pa rin pag matagal ng dinadrive.
Ano kayang problem nito? Sirain ba talaga ang Ford Lynx?

pasingit lang po. do you just spray it with WD40 no need to touch or wipe it?
This is the two thin wires around 1/4 inch wide one ontop of the order (one shorter)that is in the middle of the air chamber after the air filter. could this also be the reason why rpm hunts in some engine?
Zdre wulf - nice explanation pang masa ang dating.
hyperthread - di kaya sa ignition coil ang problema niyan?

Ay sus... Lynx pala!
Have them check the ignition coils and the cam position sensors. But it sounds like the ignition coil might be the culprit.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

May 27th, 2007 08:48 AM #9yup, kung tirik sa daan then malamang it's one of the 2 ignition coils at fault.
