Its a good project if you like this kind of things. If it was me i will go with what you are intending. Mahilig kasi ako mag DIY sa kotse ko.
If you are not so adept with cars or if you dont know a shop owner then i suggest to declare the car as a total loss and buy a used diesel fortuner instead.

June 24th, 2018 02:07 AM #16I will probably put that 1KD FTV 3.0 D4D eng on a Prado 120 or to a Hilux LN106... as long as it has its ECU and all. Putting it in a gas-fed fort is a waste of time with lots of headache. I mean its not probably bolt on. Kung talagang gusto mo, Baka pwede pa ung 4x2 2.5 Fort ang recipient then change its front end with the 4WD to make it work its 4x4...
but the best route pa rin is to sell that engine then buy a 3.0 Fort 4x4. No issues

Actually... Possible yung gusto gawin ni Jeffy07...
Kaya lang... For sure mawawalanbna ng resale value yung converted Fortuner mo...
2nd, mas mabigat at malaki yung diesel engine, alangan ako sa front suspension.
3. Electrical... May heater and diesel which is not available sa ignition ng gas version... Lalagyan mo ng bypass switch sa dashboard?
If the car is 15-20 years old, I personally will experiment...

June 24th, 2018 10:34 AM #18as recommended by others,
buy a pre-owned diesel fort. or a cheaper innova.
pera lang ang kelangan. walang kapagod-pagod.
sell whatever is sell-able from your old ride's front end. olx it for free. mabebenta rin yan. even scrap metal has some value, however small.
good luck, po.

Putting that 3.0 D4-D engine on a Prado seems a good idea. What they said is true. The suspension of a gas and diesel fort maybe different. Since diesel engines are significantly heavier than their gas counterpart.
