anyone who can tell kung yung switch ba o sensor yung isa na single contact na nasa cylinder head ng 4d56. the double contact is the temperature sender while yung part in question have never been tapped into the circuit of the vehicle since acquisition. ngayon ko lang napansin. its location is just beside the engine hanger.

some say it's a temp sensor for the fuel system during cold starts, temp sensor for the O/D of the A/T, etc.
did a resistance test myself. zero ohms (ON) when cold, XXX ohms when hot (forgot the reading, sorry). i am planning to install a thermo switch connected with the aux fan in place of this sensor. my auxiliary fan is tapped to the A/C at present.

baliktad eh. continuous (on) when cold. increasing resistance when getting hot. thus hindi sya switch. i'm searching for a switch with the same thread pattern in the range of 90-95 or 95-100C that will fit in the same location. MB435745 at MB660664 pa lang ang nahahanap ko sa net kaso not the same diameter afaik.

Based on some bit of research, the two-prong temp sensor on the left is what tells the glow control module how long the glow plugs should warm up (lower measured coolant temp = cold engine = longer glow plug operation, and vice versa). The single-prong temp sensor on the right is supposed to be the one that's connected to the dashboard temp gauge.
The following shop manual might help. Refer to pages 44, 48 and 50 of the document: http://www.google.com.ph/url?sa=t&rc...TZMpOY7pO3gwpg

May 2nd, 2014 08:24 AM #6Hey guys, buhayin ko lang yung thread. Lately, hindi na umaangat yung temp gauge ko. I need to know the location of the coolant temp sensor. Itest ko kung eto yung sira, or yung gauge na mismo.
TIA.

May 2nd, 2014 10:03 AM #9may isa pa dun sa gilid (left side).. try to test the resistance of the sensor baka open na yan or place a jumper wire dun sa connector and check kung aangat yung gauge mo
