"Tokyo, Sept. 20 (Jiji Press)--Daihatsu Motor Corp. <7262> launched the gasoline-powered Mira e:S minivehicle in Japan Tuesday with claims that it is as fuel-efficient as a gas-electric hybrid vehicle.
The new car is about 40 pct more fuel-efficient than existing minivehicles with engine displacements of up to 660 c.c. Prices start at 795,000 yen, making it more affordable than subcompact cars, the Japanese automaker said. "
