December 19th, 2024 02:43 PM #101Chicken and egg scenario. Fence sitters won't buy because of the perceived lack of servicing outside casa. TESDA-centers won't offer EV servicing courses because "walang market" daw ang EV. There is a channel of a DIYer who buys cheap exotics and even Teslas and fixes them up. The latter he says, apart from the powertrain is just like any other car (suspension and brakes).

I (personally) think na biggest issue against Geely PH is that they were not able to compete against the other Chinese brands.
Nung lumabas yung Coolray, napa wow tayo lahat... pero MG lang kalaban nya sa market noon... then later lumabas yung Territory
Tapos Azkarra was a higher end model
Okavango was the bigger car
technically, 6 years old na yung Coolray. 5 years na sya sa market natin... medyo luma na din.

December 19th, 2024 07:14 PM #103we do not need new laws.
what we need are actual enforcement of current laws.
we can start with an honest-to-goodness emissions testing and vehicle roadworthiness evaluation requirement.
tanggalin ang smoke belchers, yung walang kumpletiong ilaw, walang handbreak, may balding tyres, walang windshield wipers, walang starter, nabubutas-na-sa-kalawang na katawan... etc!
tanggalin na rin ang all-stinless-nakakasilaw jeeps!
we will not outlaw old models.
we will simply make them safer.
