Will BAIC do better with Laus Group as new distributor? | Autoindustriya

BAIC brand in the Philippines is now being handled by the Laus Auto Group; the largest automobile dealership chain that is concentrated north of Metro Manila; specifically in Pampanga. And by large, we mean extra large as Laus has dealerships for Ford, Hyundai, Geely, Kia, Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Foton, MG, Nissan, Peugeot, Suzuki, and Volkswagen. They even have quite a presence in the premium auto sector with BMW, Jeep, and Mini.

nice. So its a standard hybrid?

    Wadding Depth seem low.

Ford SUV/pick ups have i think around 700-800mm wadding depth.

Yes, it is a standard hybrid.

450mm is a bit low considering it's basically the same size as a Fortuner. I guess this is probably because the hybrid battery compartment isn't sealed?

I wonder how big the battery is and how much power is the ICE contributing to the hybrid system

Almost all EV have their battery sealed to prevent water getting into. Most have IP ratings na rin.
My guess is that the ICE engine has parts in the lower half of the unit thus the low wadding Depth.

Yes, EV's typically have sealed batteries. Hybrids, unfortunately, aren't typically sealed (at least the Toyota ones aren't, maybe this BAIC one is).

    woah! i didn't know this.
I always thought that even hybrids have sealed battery since they are usually situated low in the car and prone to floods water getting into its system.
