normally pag napalitan yung valve ng OEM ganyan ang AC nagwa-warm kase
nagye-yelo yung mga pipes. too expensive naman kase kung original valve ng chevy
costing 7k. No problem naman yan, off in few minutes then turn it ON again.
But try setting your AC into 2 of the selector, it more reduces the icing of your AC system.

Yung parang asphalt, NO Idea... try MO silipin kung saan galing and let me know pede natin patanong sa friends.

yun nga merong parang asphalt na tumatagas...sa ilalim ng dashboard nagmumula....sa aircon daw yata ang cause nun...di ko pa napacheck sa aircon center...ayun lang sa sabi-sabi ng napagtanungan ko...please give feedbacks po kung meron...salamat..

medyo hussle yan pag nagtanong ka sa AC shops baka small problem lang tapos singilin ka ng mahal. better try checking it with Mr. Mario at West Ave. cya nagme-maintain ng optra ko. mas masasagot niya yan ng tama kaysa magpunta ka sa mga AC shop. isa pa me kaibahan ang AC system ng chevy optra. call Mario 0918-7801507.

salamat...pero nasa Gensan po location ko...di nila makita ano problema ng aircon...bagong dagdag ng freon, bagong cleaning...ganun pa rin..."on" ng AC good for ilang minutes lang then warm naman...need to off....wait for minutes, then "on" uli....vice versa...

Read somewhere among the threads a suggestion to remove the filter located behind the glove compartment ... I did this yesterday
and true na ang laki ng improvement ng aircon ko and very noticeable na yung difference ng fan speed. Also parang may effect din sa engine since parang mas naging responsive and smoother ang takbo.

One more thing, parand dito nanggagaling yung masamang amoy from the AC since para siyang basahan na naka stock underneath the dashboard.

Will do a loing travel sa weekend to Bulacan and give feedback if the "icing" will still be there.

Bro, baka naglo-loose na dial switch ng aircon mo. kasi parang bumibitaw after ilang minutes eh.try mo katukin ng konting hard object yung switch, kapag bumalik yung lamig, sa switch lang yan. yung parang asphalt sa paanan mo, baka yung natutunaw na gum tape or rubber duct tape, not sure sa tawag dun.

Parang ganito rin yung experience ko sa Optra namin. Upon starting, di kaagad nag-eengage yung compressor. You have to off-on-off-on-off-on-off-on-off-on-off-on-off the switch many times hanggang mag-engage.

I had a gut-feel na hindi sa aircon but sa electrical yung problem,so I brought it to Wizzards in tomas morato to diagnose. True enough, sa electrical nga yung problem kasi when they directly hook the compressor to the battery, bypassing the computer box, malamig na malamig agad. Thorough yung pag-diagnose, they also checked the switch and cleaned all contact points in the switch to make sure it's not related to the switch. They suggested to bring it to a shop that has a device to reset the computer box. I did as suggested and it worked, but only for a few days then bumalik na naman yung problem. So until now i still have to put up to this. Nag-tyatyaga na lang ako sa off-on-off-on-off-on-off-on-off-on-off-on-off the switch many times hanggang mag-engage...

Hope somebody can find the solution to this problem. And this is just one of the 1,256,873 problems I've had with this car. I'm close to pushing this car off a cliff...

1.mahinang aircon.... for us pag talagang ok ang aircon ng optra miski no. 1 palang yan malamig nayan...
check mo sir... 1. kung yung ilaw ng A/C switch ay kulay green talaga or may ilaw ba cya pag ng on ka.
....2. kung may freon ba? pa check mo yung bomba ng compressor IN AND OUT nya...
2.lock and unlock yes check mo muna yung battery sa susian..
3. consumption 9-10.5 KM/l ok na yun gawa ng DOHC makina eh.

1. mahina aircon. ung tipong parang fan lang. walang lamig talga. ung speed naman ng fan, mahina rin. hmmm, to put it bluntly, as in ung number 1, parang wala lang.. malakas pa ata utot ko.

hehe. at number four, ang lakas.. (pero un nga walang lamig.)
->>> question: ano kaya problema nito? freon lang kaya? compressor? san maganda magpagawa nito?

2. hindi gumaganang auto unlock/lock (ung keyless entry feature nya). ->>> question: san po ako makakapagpagawa nito? and magkano dapat ihahanda ko?

3. gas consumption: 9-10.5 KM/Ltr ata. d ako sure pero based sa calculation ko: i travelled around 350Km this past weekend, tapos, ung nagastos ko sa gas e 1800+ php.
->>> question: malakas na ba ito sa isang chevy optra na 1.6L? (2006) or, O-K lang?

I suggest na ipa check up mo sa gumagawa ng Aircon pra malaman mo kung ano talga.. Free nman check up. try mo sa 2 Aircon specialist. Nagpaayos na ako ng Aircon. palit lahat, compressor(KAC), dryer, expansion valve. OK pa condenser ko. Spent less 20K. mas lesser kung binili ko lahat sa isang supplier(sanxel) Ngayon OK na lamig. If ever may question kayo sa Aircon. Goodluck

I think there are cases where its just the expansion valve that needs to be changed.
