There's a Chana Benni versus Chery QQ article in the July issue of Top Gear Phil. TGP preferred the latter.
The Benni that they tested has some weird engine problem (it would rev up all of a sudden even without any throttle input).

The interior of the Benni seems a bit less well-built than the QQ... but Chana is offering a good warranty on their cars. Still have to put some miles on them to find out if they're any good.

Yeah. There's the rub.
The biggest selling point, for me, of Chana over Chery were the more sophisticated engines and the warranty. (Sophisticated in the sense that they were all-electronic, etcetera). But now that Chery has the longer warranty, and given that the cheap QQ is apparently of commendable quality, that tide is shifted in Chery's favor.
Include the fact that Chery has dealerships sprouting like mushrooms all over the country, and it's an uphill battle for Chana in the local market.
