How does someone with more than 10 yrs of work experience answer this question? What's expected from experienced candidates especially those at officer level? Can you share interview tips? How to prepare?

i still remember my interview, when i was starting my training.
i got so animated, narrating my tale, the interviewer, whom i did not know had the same background as me, had to rein in my enthusiasm.

Talk about the present then tell the interviewer that you will take them back years ago when and how it all started.

Joking aside, tell them how your experience is valuable for them. It is just advertising yourself.
