    I'm kinda in the market for a good business investment.

    Personally I prefer to franchise, especially if its a food based business.

    If you have some suggestions like an available franchise, etc... kindly include the costs and other fees required.

    pre... what's your business ba?

    ==========

    if you want slow and steady, you can place your money in rural banks. they give as much as 15% per annum interest. just limit your deposits to P250K to have it covered by the PDIC (just in case).

    you can also try to go for LONG-TERM stock investment. though you really have to do a lot of research and monitor the stocks daily to get a good picture.

    waffle time...250k daw eh...ROI daw is 18 months...ito yung tipong business na pwede mo pa iwanan at silipin paminsan minsan...iyan yung nagtitinda ng hotdog waffle at iba pang flavor sa mga malls...okay na pamatid gutom, okay din ang presyo (12 per waffle) pero crucial ang pagpili ng location para patok...di pa ako nag inquire mismo sa office...

    inuulit ko lang re food franchises...avoid mo, or at the very least, get feedback from former/current franchisees of potato cuddler. i know(not just from hearsay) that a former franchisee is suing them for breach of contract, more specifically in the area of after sales support -- i.e. zero. nadda. once they get your money, hahayaan ka na lang. they also feed you b.s. about how good a particular franchisee is doing. nung binisita and kinausap namin ung franchisee e matumal daw kaya ititigil na raw nya.

    kilatisin mo lang ng mabuti ung mga nagpapafranchise: just remember, kahit papano e business yan; profit muna before everything else.

    sir mazdamazda, any recommendations re rural banks? coops?

    doubling your money in 5 years means effective annual yield of about 14% p.a. Be wary of banks offering such high yields because their only outlet will be to lend to high risk borrowers.

    strong banks would offer within the vicinity of 90-day T-bills (7%-8%) while the weaker financial institutions will offer double this rate/yield.

    I strongly recommend you go invest in entrepreneurial ventures. take stock of what kind of business you are personally inclined to do.
