Corolla 7th gen acquired October 92. The plastic pillar trim of corollas in this era have sharp edges. Newer models have rounded edges. The seatbelt rubs against this edge as it is pulled out and retracted which subsequently caused the fraying of the edge. i am hoping to locate an upholstery shop that sells the belt material by the meter so that i can just replace the belt and retain the retractor mechanism and buckles. It is easy to remove the belt from its spool, have the ancillaries transferred and sewn on the new belt using the original belt as a template. Cost of surplus units will also have to be considered against material, if even available, and sewing labour.
