    Thanks. Actually i was thinking why windows or my cp ask me to unmount or safely remove the sdcard and comes with a warning that it might damage the drive.

    Also considering removing the battery of my sjcam...

    The warning is aimed more towards avoiding data loss. If you pull out a flash drive while the computer is writing something on it, the data might get corrupted. This is what I feared when I took my battery out of my SJ. However, the SJ records properly up to the point when you cut the power, no corrupt files or anything.
