Muntik na mabangga para lang maging contributor? That's just very irresponsible and careless, IMHO.

Ano 'to, nag-join sa Tsikot para lang masabi yung unsolicited advice? Tsk tsk tsk. Why don't you find better use of your time, like teaching "yung iba (na muntik mabangga)" to take someone to do the marking of waypoints para makapag-concentrate sa pag-drive, para hindi sila danger sa ibang tao?

^ I believe it's just an exaggeration and not to be taken literally. I believe the reply meant that it does add stress and a lot of driver attention to have to stop and record a POI accurately.

If you're driving and typing at the same time on your GPS unit (or doing some other things, e.g., texting on your cellphone), your attention to the road has been diminished already, and that can cause accidents. I say he meant it literally. No offense to you, sir oj88.

it seems that merong iba na nakikinabang sa free philippine map. just a suggestion, of course with the permission ng mga contributors and officials ng gumagawa ng free map or contributors map, why don't you start a foundation then sell the map and all the proceeds ay sa foundation. nakatulong pa kayo imbes na merong nakikinabang na iba na pansarili lang nila. just my thoughts.

^ If that's the case, everybody would just buy the map and nobody (or maybe just a select few) will be left to update it.

The map has taken on a life of its own primarily because of the hundreds of contributors. Take away the initiative, and the map will die.

I am quite happy with the AVT GPS. I could have save money using a garmin together with the roadguide map but I just didn't have the patience to contribute to roadguide to be able to get the contributor's map.
