My brother's 2015 Honda City was released (from Honda Q.Av.) on Dec 20, 2014 and while on their way from Tagaytay on morning of Dec 23, they got hit by a Toyota HiAce van. All of them four escaped the accident with minor bruises and except my brother's fiancé that got a 2-inch stitch sa forehead. Driver of van was comatose for several weeks and undergone surgery.
The SA advised my bro na it will take around 1.5 to 2 months sa pagprocess sa claim, casa will evaluate first the extent of the damage before they will decide whether to be repaired or to be replaced.
Last week, Casa updated us na "if less than 70% of total cost damage ng sasakyan, kukunin na ng bangko (BPI) yung unit then kuha na lang ng bago. Then up us to get another car. Otherwise, it will take a lot of time na i-fix nila kasi magdedepende pa sila sa availability sa pyesa ng sasakyan."
Til now, waiting pa rin ang Honda Q. Av sa issuance ng BPI (BPI din kasi ang Insurance) ng go signal to dismantle the car for inspection and evaluation. Later on magformulate si honda ng quotation, which is yet to be verified again by bpi. Then by that time we are able to know if either for repair or kunin na ng insurance yung sasakyan on the basis of that 70% total damage.
Sabi pala ng Honda, wala pa daw Policy Contract ng sasakyan noong nirelease nila, bat ganun?
Questions:
1. Ano po yung 70% of total damage?
2. D po ba saklaw ng comprehensive insurance yung medical/ hospital expenses like CT Scanning, Medicines, Admission, etc.
3. Nasa 10000 ang towing fee from Tagaytay to Honda Quezon Av, pero 3500 lang binalik ng insurance.
4. Where or whom to consult for these cases if arguments arise?Last edited by jay1005; February 8th, 2015 at 03:29 AM.

Wow saklap! About your questions:
70% damage is if yung cost ng damage (labor+repair) is 70% value of the car.
About #2 and 3 question mo nasa policy mo yan, eh since hindi mo pa nakukuha hindi mo pa masasagot yan.
Have you talked to BPI/Ms already? Ano sabi nila?
Pag total loss matagal na process yan at the same time matagal din naman waiting mo pag repair since ang laki nga ng damage.
Call ni insurance yan if repair or total loss. If you could talk to the insurance adjuster, sila nag check/validate quotation ng casa eh.

What is it with new cars getting into accidents? Yung sandwiched vios was only a day old diba? I am glad that nobody got hurt.
We also had a car that was totaled many years ago but the car was not brand new anymore. My Dad just got the money and used it to buy another car. Then some time my brother saw the totaled car running in the metro.

Yes, that's should be.

Yung kasi quote ngg casa rough estimate pa yun. Pag dismantle dun malalaman lahat ng sira niyan.
I do hope declared as total loss na nga lang yan, get a new car na. Goodluck TS

February 8th, 2015 03:33 PM #9Kung wala pa policy contract, where did you pay the premium?
Regarding sa tanong mo where or whom to consult, its the Insurance Commission. They have a website (| Official Website of the Insurance Commission |)
Either you can call or write a letter addressed to the Insurance Commissioner. They will answer all your queries.
