may question pala ako ulit. it was last year in mariveles bataan. ang layo ng difference ng price ng XCS at Xtra Unleaded. if i can recall, it was a big 6-8 Peso gap doon mismo sa Petron Station na yun. same with the nearby Shell. so nagpakarga na ko Full tank agad.
bakit ganun kalayo ang difference?
*sir niky i thought ethanol as an additive increases octane rating?

March 31st, 2010 05:57 PM #22I've noticed my fuel consumption increase also. Past couple of weeks my FC has dropped from 7.5 km/lit to less than 7. And if the 25 centavo price rollback is the effect of Ethanol on final fuel prices, (*&R^%* niyo sugar baron politicians (you know who you are) at greedy oil companies!
Mas mababa na energy, baka makasira pa sa rubber parts, mabilis pa mag expire, at mas mataas pa presyo ng asukal natin!
Bring on the colorum gas stations and smugglers!

Same experience here.
My fuel consumption was increased when I started fueling up Shell's Super Unleaded and Flying V's AV Gas compared to when I was using Petron's PURE XCS Plus back then.
So far upon using E-10 for about a month now, I haven't been experiencing any symptoms from the said E-10 Problems.
One question guys, is it still advisable if I continue doing these steps over and over again ....
1. When my tank is half-empty I fill up Flying V's AV Gas ( pure ) then use it.
2. When my tank is half-empty again, I then fill up with Shell's Super Unleaded ( e-10 blended )
... Steps one and 2 is done alternately. Uhm, advisable or not ?

Many car owners will not immediately experience the problems associated with E10 use unless your car is in really bad shape. Immediately the loss of power and poor FC will be noticeable. Only newer cars (post 2000? 2004?) will be able to withstand the ethanol effects on non-metallic pipes and sealers (gaskets).

i could definitely testify something for a loss of power using e10. why? i step deeper on the gas pedal just to accelerate and speed up. and thats why from 10.5km/l (XCS without e10 yet) down to 7 km/l my FC has become for the past 3 full tanks of e10. too bad on my part

Medyo off topic lang pero baka kaya connected sa fuel na gamit ko?
I have a 1996 Lancer GLXi matic. Fuel consumption is just 4-5 kms/ liter while my 1997 Civic Vti matic consumes 7-9 kms/ liter city driving. Pareho gas ko sa kanila yung shell unleaded or caltex silver. I haven't tried other gasoline like premium or the higher octane variety. Ano kaya kailangan pa-aayos dito? Your suggestions will be sincerely appreciated.

Below average fuel mileage can have many causes, not just the fuel type used.
You might want to check the following as potential causes:
-wheel alignment (toe, camber, etc)
-tire pressure (too low?)
-dirty air filter
-incorrect ignition timing
-leak in the exhaust system
-rubbing brakes
-worn out wheel bearings
-uneven wheel/tire sizes
-others
