I am curious if it is the same Volvo Hybrid tech that can also charge with a regular 220v wall outlet running at 6amps? I think Uly of car guide reviewed the Volvo Hybrid just earlier this month or late January.

Yeah, I have been curious why they still opted to keep the turbo of the engine but maybe it's because the engine bay can't fit a 1.8 or 2.0L engine like the Altis to produce enough "Base" power should the batteries be drained and you need the gas engine to kick in. If they kept the 1.5 a non turbo, maybe not enough torque is produced so they had no choice but to keep the turbo. But this is just my guess.

Curious though, it appears they are launching the Atlas MHEV? Rather than the Coolray PHEV (the model unit of the PHEV is already at GEELY North Edsa showroom though). So wonder what made them decide on the MHEV Instead? Mitsubishi and Subaru released their sub 3m php hybrid models this year?

reason I can think of why they went mild hybrid is the battery sourcing.. maybe they dont have a supplier yet.

They still cant match Toyota's hybrids..

Makes sense if it is a battery supply constraint then

They'd prioritize Volvo models with the available PHEV battery supply they can get as they can sell them at a premium vs any Geely model they try to throw at the competition right now.
