Acceleration? Handling?
In terms of Acceleration, the Focus TDCi 2.0 MT should come out on top (no more Civic 2.0 MTs for this year), followed by the Lancer 2.0 MT, then the Subaru 2.0 RS MT... Civic 2.0 AT should be the quickest among the automatics.
In terms of handling, it's hard to say. It's a toss-up between the Focus, Mazda3 and Subaru. The Civic is light, which makes it nimble in the slaloms, but the rear suspension is too soft, IMHO, for quick road-work. The Lancer is an unknown at this time... we don't know what suspension specs they will use for the Philippine version. Lower end Lancers are merely okay in terms of handling (not as outright sporty as Mazda3s) but higher end GT variants are pretty good.
Fuel economy? I'd bet on the Corolla 1.8. Oops... forgot... Focus TDCi. We've gotten 20 km/l out of the Focus in highway driving... check my sig... hehehe...Last edited by niky; February 14th, 2008 at 11:56 AM.

February 14th, 2008 12:48 PM #3the diesel focus is great, but its price puts it in a league higher than the altis and the lancer. but if you have the moolah, why not.
kung ayaw niyo po ng matic, altis at focus lang ata ang choices
all the others are jumping on the paddleshift/semiautomatic wagon now
