July 10th, 2019 06:40 PM #1The 2019 Vitara (1.0/1.4 turbojet) is coming soon replacing the 1.6 naturally aspirated engine. Today is the best time to buy the older model due to big discounts but is it worth to wait for the turbo engine?

If you want the extra torque and power, then opt for a turbocharged engine.

^I agree...
But you have to consider your planned use and daily route.
If it's a daily driver tapos traffic lang sa EDSA... Then the Naturally Aspirated engine will be fine.

Most turbo engines behave like naturally aspirated engines at lower rpms. Only when the turbo spools will the peak torque kicks in and it keeps that torque up to the rpm where peak power is delivered. Depending on turbo engine design, turbo spool rpm is usually between 1500 to 2500 rpm.

July 11th, 2019 04:06 AM #5IMHO, if you don't mind the lesser power and drive mostly in the city with a light foot keeping rpms at 2000 and below then the current engine should suffice. Simpler engine also means lesser things to go wrong in the long run.

They should put that turbo engine on the Swift. It would make justice to the name of the car. It's awful for a car with its name to have it lumbering around with a low output 1.2L engine.

July 11th, 2019 01:54 PM #8^agreed! Sadly the local Suzuki distributor keeps emasculating the local Swift. From 1.4 to 1.2

July 11th, 2019 02:30 PM #10If only they would bring the Swift Sport (1.4 turbo) and price it way lower than Civic RS, it might sell okay lalo na the Swift has its own fanbase sa atin.
