The 1999 models came with a different rims design, the Infinity grille and crystal tail lights as an "Elite" model with leather seats and some small items. One main difference is the steering wheel is much lighter on the late 1998/1999 models and up; the 1997 to 1998 models had a heavier steering wheel feel.

so the 50k difference is not worth it for every succession of the year ('97, '98, '99)
thank you for the replies!

IMO,
97 models
98-99 should be 97+20K
00-01 (yulon) 97+50K
If you are eyeing for a Cefiro, the best buy should be the 1st gen Yulon Elite.
Comes with everything the 97-99 models have plus better 2DIN Stereo, Leather, Sunroof, Sunshades for the rear windows and rear windshield, rear sensors etc.
Plus the 2.0L in the 1st Yulon Cefiros til the 07 Cefiros were tweaked to 165hp.

I just noticed that in the ads (wherever) that this price jump description doesn't hold true... The 1st gen Yulons selling now are WAY too overpriced. They sell from like 350k-450k. Although I prefer the looks of this series over the other model years, I can't really justify the high cost. For that price one would already be in BMW 320i E36 territory... Just my thoughts. But I really wanna get a Cefiro and bling it up! Awww!!!

Best models are the Japan market based ones (97 to early 2000), not the Yulon ones.
