July 5th, 2012 05:50 PM #2Which variant of the Fortuner are you looking at? 3.0D4D pulls hard, though FC is less than spectacular. 2.5D4D does well enough in city driving but loses steam above 100km/h, FC is quite good though. But Fortuner ride quality is poor and interior space is very compromised. 3rd row legroom is almost non-existent.
Later Fieldmasters (2001 and above, if I'm not mistaken) do not have 4x4. Engine performance and FC are just so-so. But since it is an old school diesel, maintenance and parts cost is cheaper. Interior is also the most accommodating among the three. If you really want this car, and the so-so performance is the only thing deterring you, then you'd probably like to know that there are quite a number of engine mods available for this car that enables you to keep up with those Fortuners out there.
The Innova may look like a mom mobile, but its pretty tough underneath. The fact that it shares the same platform and drivetrain with the Fort and Hilux proves that. 2.5D4D is zippy in this car, and its very fuel efficient too. Its actually more comfortable and roomier than the Fortuner too. But that still doesn't mean that its still not rather bumpy and cramped inside, specifically at the 3rd row.

July 5th, 2012 05:53 PM #4Oh, and by the way, you would not be getting any 3.0D4D Fortuners with a 600-700k budget. This leaves us with the Fortuner 2.5D4D, which means the "mabagal" Pajero is actually the most powerful among your choices.
(on paper at least)
Ayaw mo ba ng Everest? Its leagues ahead in terms of power when compared with the 2.5 Fort.

Im currently using a ford escape sir, im planning to sell it and upgrade to a full size SUV sana
Regarding the everest , mejo ayoko na ng ford maintenance wise kasi mahal ang parts kadalasan sa casa bibili so its more costly not like the toyota na madaming parts...
What do you think of the fortuner 2.7 vvti?? Malakas ba sya sa gas?
