June 11th, 2013 12:44 PM #11John M.......This might help a bit. Though they're using the 2.5 versions of the CX5 and Forester here the driving dynamics with the 2.0 models are similar. : 2013 Toyota RAV4 XLE AWD vs. 2014 Subaru Forester 2.5i Touring, 2014 Mazda CX-5 Grand Touring AWD ? Comparison Test ?*Car and Driver
For John M....now you got me into thinking which is the best buy nga ba.

Risky yes pero siguro naman Mazda did their homework hehe. These are cars made to be sold all over the world so they better be good
For peace of mind you can read comments from other forums and countries. Generally ok naman ang feedback.
Disclosure: My dad bought a CX5 MT last month and he and mom are having a great time with it on the provincial highways they frequent (1k PMS after one week of ownership :hysterical. I got to drive it for a few hours and man it was fun. Their old backs didn't like the ride of my sister's Fortuner. Surprisingly my sister said that she feels the Mazda's back seat was roomier than the Fort's. My 1-year-old nephew seemed to agree too
BTW the CX5 AWD will be available for test drives this weekend at High Street.Last edited by JohnM; June 11th, 2013 at 12:57 PM.

best buy between the 3? the fort G variant. its big, more seats, bigger cargo capacity, diesel, ladder frame, same power output with the V variant may hood scoop na din. Its gonna be the most durable between the 3 choices. I'm a big subie fan being an owner of one pero sulit talaga ang fort. Cx-5 vs forester? cx-5 kung 2.0 liter variant pero kung top of the line model the forester wins.

A Toyota Salesman told me the new Fortuner is due in 2016
Presumably it has to wait for the new Hilux Platform
Considering we havent seen any spyshots of the new fortuner, it will still probably be a long time
The Fortuner is the best value but it might be to big
Id rather get the Subaru, it is bigger that the CX5

June 11th, 2013 03:12 PM #15Thank you all again.....this is what turned me off with the CX5 2013 Mazda CX-5 Consumer Reviews so I guess it's between the two na lang....does anybody here have an idea when the 2014 Fort would arrive the earliest sa mga dealer? I'll test drive the Subie this week and see how yung cvt trannie performs
I am more kasi into peace of mind and cost of maintenance. With all the threads posted so far.....it seems medyo nakakaangat na ulit ang Fort. Feeling like am this na...

June 11th, 2013 03:43 PM #17JohnM... at first glance na-like ko rin un RAV4 kaso di ko type un interior plasticky at cheap ang dating for its price. Though like ko yung 6 speed trannie niya.
Any negative issues sa Fort or Subie?

*Kevz321 - checkout the Subaru Cars talk threads. There's a lot of discussion there for the Forester. As per inputs from owners, the new Forester 2.0L NA CVT can do 9 km/L in city driving conditions. The Forester XT has lower FC (7 km/L) but that's good enough for a 2.0L turbo engine with 240hp.

Test drive the candidates na lang. If you can live with the Fort's ride then it's a good choice given your priorities.
You might want to check out the Montero and Trailblazer. Same class ng Fort. Wild card ang Sorento

- I did checked that out and probably read up to page 42 yata, mostly are Subie fan ata so no negative marks, what I'm also interested in knowing sana ay yung cost of ownership in comparison sa Fort wala kasi yun sa discussion.
