based from the reviews that i've read, the 3.5L Sorento is gas-guzzler. though if compared to the 3.0L Escape, it could just be a small difference.
for on-road comfort and performance, I'd go with the Escape. but for if you need an off-road performer then the Sorento it is.

December 20th, 2004 12:52 PM #3Based on your criteria, I'd go with the Sorento.
I've driven the 3.0L Mazda (same as Ford's) and ang gaspang ng engine. Interior trims is not so good too, Mazda 3 is way better. The only saving grace is the moonroof feature in my opinion.

600-700kms/80liters at 100kphmax hiway (pag buwelo 2500rpm lang.2100rpm at topgear sa 100kph).
2.0 lang yung '00 crv namin pero halos same cla ng fuel mileage.

I'd readily take the Escape V6 over the Sorento V6.. but if you'd consider the Sorento Diesel, I recommend it!

September 6th, 2005 11:22 AM #7If you wanted to wait, I think I will be buying a Sorento w/ 2.5 CRDI engine pero sa Sept 10 pa. I will be posting my impression after driving it a week.

on-road, sa escape ako.
but if i were buying, neither hehe. while were in a gas crisis, these models are extremely impractical... especially the sorento 3.5, since a turbodiesel option exists for it.
