July 24th, 2019 03:38 PM #52Try to test drive all three cars to see which one you prefer driving.
Just take out the Resale value as a criteria in choosing and the kia forte would be a good choice.
Saw the Kia in the last MIAS/PIMS. It really has good specs and a looker too.
But i will still pick the Subaru levorg. it is probably faster or at least equal to the other two in a straight line and will trump both of them in the wet due to AWD. it also has more safety features than the other two. More versatile due to more space for baggage and stuff. you also don't see a lot of them on the road.
A downside lang is the perception of most filipinos of wagons being driven by older generation of drivers.

Someone here says to buy the Toyota RAV4 since it doesn't use CVT and is a good "investment" ... Then recommends the Ford Focus with a well known problematic DCT transmission ... Go figure ...

Huh? No one said anything about Ford being a good investment.
What I said was the Focus WAS a good value compared to the Civic RS which now cost around 600k more and considering that if you’re looking for a decently quick turbo car, the focus is only slightly slower, maybe 0.5 seconds slower to 0-100 compared to the Civic RS. You can do a lot with 600k: you can buy another car with that amount, pay for future repairs, use it for maintenance, etc.
Its all moot now though since the Focus has been discontinued. Maybe there’s still some old stock left with some dealers.

I would avoid Hondas that have a turbo and CVT. But, there are Civics with NA engines and MT. Those would be my choice. The coupe (with NA 2.0 Inline 4 and MT) especially.

There are no Civic coupes nor a 2.0L NA option in the Philippines. Engine choices are the trusty 1.8L NA and the 1.5L turbo. There is also no MT option. Sales figures in the past have shown that Pinoys rarely buy sedans worth more than 1M with an MT tranny.
