March 29th, 2017 12:37 PM #61Sir with 173hp you can hardly brag at all especially with your garden variety suvs making more power than that. Also bragging leads you nowhere there is always that car out there with more power than you. Disclaimer: i don't currently own a civic pero i am intrigued by its package.

The Civic RS do has some bragging rights as its combination of light chassis (1300kg) and a turbo engine is the quickest among the usual compact cars. It can do around 7+ seconds on a 0-100kmh sprint, a bit quicker than the more powerful yet heavier Focus Ecoboost (180hp, 8+ seconds 0-100kmh). It's true that some diesel PPVs have more powerful engines but their heavy chassis make them not as quick as petrol compacts. Most of these diesel PPVs can't even do 10 seconds on a 0-100kmh sprint. A Fiesta Ecoboost can even outclass most of them on a sprint.
I have to see though how the Civic RS does against a performance-oriented CUV on a sprint. I have to ask my brother-in-law if he wants me to take a spirited drive of his Civic RS so that I can compare it against my Forester XT.

Only the Forester XT, Miata, 86/BRZ, 208 GTi, and WRX are faster than the Civic under 2M.
None of the PPVs can hold a candle to the Civic because even if they make more power, they also weigh 2 tons.

March 30th, 2017 11:15 AM #67If it's my only car and I have a family, I would get the Trend.
If it's my 2nd car, I would get the Civic Turbo in a heartbeat.

May 28th, 2017 12:26 AM #68Just got my RS a couple of days ago and ung trend ko 1year na sa akin.
In summary, if this would be your only car, Id go with the trend. Get a good ecu tune if mahilig ka sa rezing and spirited driving, and call it a day.
RS if may 2nd car ka na like a van/suv/auv, etc.
Regarding FC, average ko sa trend is 12km/L. RS is at 14 same route, medyo granny driving pa since kaunti pa break in. Id say same coat lang since mas mahal gas/blaze 100 vs vpower diesel. PMS mahal Everest ng kaunti at 8L oil vs. 4L oil for RS.
RS is quick, but not as quick as my 500whp sunday car... But, from monday to friday work, I cant or I have a hard time driving it since pagoda pag manual sa trapik so I bought the RS.
Everest pag may bagyo or pag maulan ang forecast or out of town. If car dala ko, kinakabahan ako if malakas na ulan or may nakikita na ko rough road ahead. Sa everest chill lang...

If we're talking from a full-stop, the BRZ/86 is actually slower in AT. Probably even in MT. MX-5 is faster. WR-X is much faster. 208 GTi... can't recall whether we've done a 0-100 for that thing. Forester, if I recall, is about as quick... Subaru's CVTs are slow off the line compared to Honda's... from a roll, though, I don't doubt the XT can outpower the Civic.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
