Hmmm, locally, the 2009-2011 Ford Focus TDCi with its 6-speed DSG and very torquey engine unless there's another one which can match its fuel efficiency and stock performance. Worldwide, the VW Golf GTi is still king of affordable performance hatchbacks though the Ford Focus ST is trying to unseat it.

IMHO, a sub-compact sedan (Vios, City, Fiesta, Mazda2) would not fit an executive look. A standard compact, like the Altis or Civic or Elantra or new Focus, will be a better choice. If budget is willing, go the extra mile for the TOTL 2.0L compacts (Altis, Civic, Focus) or the cheaper midsize cars in the market (Kizashi, Sonata, Optima).

I do agree its really pushing the 'executive' statement on the City pero aside from yun lang ang budget, medyo ayaw mag drive sya ng full size sedans.
And I do agree na Jazz is the best hatchback out there. Opted muna for the City para maiba lang, as I've been there and done that na with the Jazz. I'll probably buy one again when my kid goes to college.

Given the sub-compact limitation, the City is the most formal-looking, at least imho. "Executive" is a very loose term to use, depending on where you're from.
So yes, get the City, definitely
